Christian Acronym :: Q&A

Q (Man): What is the greatest commandment in the law?
A (Jesus): Love God totally (with all thy heart, soul and mind) and Love Man totally (as yourself)

Q (Jesus): What say ye of me, the Christ? Whose son is he?
A (Man): The son of a king called David i.e., man’s son
Q (Jesus): Then why does the king have to address me, the Christ, as Lord.
A (Man): No answer (nor any more question)

Jesus was establishing the fact that He was of the line of David, but not the son of David, an earthly king, but that He was indeed Lord and the Son of the King of kings and Lord of lords i.e., the Son of God with whom He reigns.

Who do you say Jesus is?

Matthew 22:35-46 (KJV)
35
Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36
Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38
This is the first and great commandment.
39
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
42
Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.
43
He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44
The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
45
If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
46
And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

Christian Acronym :: P.H.D

In all manner of conversation,we must be Practicing Holy Discourse (P.H.D) for our conversation (citizenship) is not of this world but of heaven (Philippians 3:20). Our manner of conversation must be of holy and heavenly matters.

1 Peter 14-16 (KJV)
14
As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15
But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation [discourse];
16
Because it is written, Be [practice] ye holy; for I am holy.

Christian Acronym :: O.M.G

Tech savvy professionals often come across this acronym OMG which stands for Oh My God in SMS and chat rooms.

When Jesus the sinless one was made sin so that we can become the righteousness of God, and He was crucified, He could not address God, whose work He had come to fulfill, as Father, but instead He had to call on God the Father, as God. He expressed from the cross, Oh My God, Oh My God (OMG, OMG) why have you forsaken me?

Matthew 27:46 (KJV)
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Christian Acronym :: N.I.B

The acronym N.I.B is used to indicate things that are New In Box. Jesus said that unless a person is born again, he or she cannot see the the kingdom of God. In other words, in order to be part of God’s kingdom, one must be born again i.e., one must believe in Jesus Christ, as God’s Son, and the Savior of all mankind. When one believes in Jesus Christ, that person is a new creation; he or she is New In Birth (N.I.B).

Are you born again? Are you a New Creation? Are you New In Birth (N.I.B)?

John 3:3 (KJV)
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Christian Acronym :: M.S.R.P

Prosecutor: You deserve to die!
Defendant: Why?
Prosecutor: Because the soul that sins shall die (Ezekiel 18:20).
Defendant: In that case, everyone must be punished for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
Prosecutor: You are absolutely correct!
Defendant: Isn’t there any way by which I can be saved?
Prosecutor: No, no other way. Unless the wages of sin is paid, there is no other way.
Defendant: But, what can equate the wages of sin; what can equate the penalty of death; what is it’s price?
Prosecutor: I know of none save one!
Defendant: What is it?
Prosecutor: It is the price of blood of a sinless person with an advanced payment of thirty pieces of silver!
Defendant: You are saying then, that I don’t stand a chance; in fact no one stands a chance because there is no one without sin; No one is sinless, correct?
Prosecutor: No that is not entirely true.
Defendant: What is not entirely true?
Prosecutor: What is true is that you are guilty of death; What is true is that you don’t stand a chance. What is true is that wages of sin is death. What is true is that you deserve death, but what is not true is that no one stands a chance, for there is One, Only One who was, is and will be sinless and that is Jesus Christ. He paid your penalty with the equitable price.
Defendant: So, what are you saying?
Prosecutor: You deserve to die, but you don’t have to, because Jesus paid the price for your Salvation and Redemption with His blood. You are free to go (and sin no more).
Defendant: Thanks be to God, for My Salvation’s Redemption Price (M.S.R.P), was My Savior’s blood and thirty pieces of silver.

Zechariah 11: 12-13 (KJV)
12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
13
And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.

Revelation 5:9 (KJV)
9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

Christian Acronym :: L.E.T G.O

As believers of Jesus Christ, we must not try to control our very lives, being wise in our own eyes, but we must fear God, depart from evil and we must LET GO. In other words, in all our ways, we must Trust in the LORD and acknowledge him, i.e., we must Leave Everything To God, Only* (L.E.T G.O).

Proverbs 3:5-7 (KJV)
5
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

* I had originally posted the acronym for L.E.T G.O as Leave Everything To God, Okay, but a close friend (who chose to remain unnamed) suggested that instead of Okay, the word ‘Only’ gave a double assertive about Trusting in the Lord only and on no one else (in men or in chariots), which is more reflective of the Scripture and more powerful. So I have changed L.E.T G.O to be Leave Everything To God, Only.

Christian Acronym :: K.I.S.S

When a person is knighted, it is a great honor that is bestowed on that individual. The individual generally kneels down, as the queen taps each shoulder with a sword and dubs the person a knight. The persons receives a sword, a suit of armor and a pair of spurs  to represent the new status.

When we believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are commissioned to be Knights In Savior’s Service (K.I.S.S). We kneel before Him with humility accepting His Lordship and swearing our allegiance to Him and by the sword of His mouth (which is the word of God), we are tapped on our shoulders and giving the honor of being a Knight in the service of Jesus, THE Savior. We are given a Sword (His word to share), a suit of the Armor (of God) and Spurs to be worn in our feet always to Go on His Commission with readiness for the Gospel of Peace (Ephesians 6:15). Our new status is one of great honor, which is Knights In Savior’s Service (K.I.S.S)

Interestingly, the origin of the word “Knight” comes from the Old English word cniht which means servant and is akin to Old High German kneht which means military follower. We are Knights In Savior’s Service (K.I.S.S) are to be “following servants” and “fighting soldiers” in the army of the King of kings and Lord of lords; Jesus Christ, the commander-in-chief of the army of God. We are to be Knights in the power of His might (Ephesian 6:10), and not our own.

Are you/Am I a Knight In Savior’s Service?

Ephesians 6:10-18 (KJV)
10
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Christian Acronym :: J.A.G

JAG is the acronym for Judge Advocate General.

Jesus will return to Judge the Word and as a General in war, he will come and make war in the end times (Revelation 19:11). He is not only a Judge and General but an Advocate as well, for if we sin, he intercedes for us with God the Father (1 John 2:1).

Jesus is the ultimate Judge Advocate General (J.A.G)

Revelation 19:10-11 (KJV)
10
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
11
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

1 John 2:1-2 (KJV)
1
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Christian Acronym :: I.S.P

Just as an Internet Service Provider (I.S.P) provides access to the people to all who are connected and who subscribe to their service, Jesus Christ is the Immortal Salvation Provider (I.S.P) to all who connect with Him and who subscribe to the belief that Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son, given for the Salvation of mankind, who paid the penalty of our sins, died in our stead, was raised to life by the power of God, conquering sin and death, once and for all, and is alive and seated at the right hand of God.

Without Christ, there is no connection to God. He is the Immortal Salvation Provider (I.S.P), and there is none other.

John 3:16-18  (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Christian Acronym :: H.E.L.P

When one is in need, they often seek the provisional assistance for another and when assistance is given, they are said to have been helped. But what is help? Is it one’s provisions or their presence that defines ‘Help’? From the Bible, we learn that God is our helper. H.E.L.P is His Ever Loving Presence. The Psalmist asks, “Where does my help come from?” and answers “My help comes from the LORD.” It is not only His provisions but His Presence that helps us.

Jesus said, “Lo, I am with you always!”. In other words, His being with us (Presence) is a promise that we can count on. Jesus is our Helper. His Ever Loving Presence (H.E.L.P) is promised and assured.

Psalm 121:1-2 (KJV)
1
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV)
18
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
