Disciples: Lord, Teach us to Pray
Jesus: When ye pray, ye shall pray in this manner … Ye shall Praise, Repent, Ask and Yield (P.R.A.Y)
(Matthew 6:9-13)
Praise:
Hallowed be the Name of our Father in heaven; for thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever.
Repent:
Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us
Ask:
Give us this day our daily bread; Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one
Yield:
Thy kingdom Come, Thy will be done (on earth as it is in heaven)

Creative..love this! Great way to remember as “praying” is a two-way conversation/interaction in one’s relationship with the Heavenly Father 🙂

A little out of order… go back and re-read Mat 6.
God is a god of order Amen?
Jesus gave us the model prayer in an order for a reason. Something to think about it.

Dear brother David
Thank you for your note. First please be assured that I am in total agreement with you apropos the fact, that our God is not a God of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33) and all things that are done ought to be done in an orderly and fitting manner (1 Corinthians 14:40).
Having said that, in the interest of Iron sharpening Iron, let me also suggest with all humility that this article is not written with a chronological perspective but more as a mnemonic to remember the essential components of prayer that Jesus taught his disciples. So while it is important to recognize the importance of order, the elements of prayer ought not to be missed.
Something to think about.
Thank you again
Mano
