The third Monday of February is celebrated as Presidents’ day in the United States of America. What began initially as a way to remember the first President, George Washington’s birthday was later adapted to remember and honor all past Presidents of America.

Merriam-Webster’s dictionary defines the title of the President as an appointed or elected official who is chosen to preside over or govern an assembly.  While on an periodic basis, we vote in elections to choose our next President, the President of all presidents is Jesus Christ, for he is appointed by God to preside over (subdue) all things unto (not under) himself (Philippians 3:21). He is appointed by God to govern (Matthew 2:6; Isaiah 9:6-7) over God’s assembly (the Ekklesia or the Church).  Jesus Christ is Mr. President.

Points to ponder:
Have you elected to choose Jesus to be your President so that he can preside over your life? Elect/Vote ye this day, whom you shall set as President over your life but as for me and my house, we elect to have Jesus Christ, Mr. President, be the Lord and President of our lives,  and only him will we serve. Happy Presidents’ day. God bless you!

Philippians 3:20-21 (KJV)
20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Matthew 2:6 (KJV)
And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

Joshua 24:14-15 (KJV)
14 Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
