Genesis 22:9-11 records the act of faith of Abraham. He did not merely say that he would sacrifice his son, but acted on his belief (faith) with action – stretching forth his hand, taking the knife to slay (sacrifice) his son. In the nick of time, God intervenes and calls out to Abraham (not once but twice) and Abraham’s response was “Here I am ”

Points to ponder:
No matter what our situation may be, first and foremost we must act on the faith we have, trusting and believing in God. Second, when God calls out our names (once, twice …) we ought to respond like Abraham did – “Here am I”. The right response to God is to act on our trust of him and in a servant-like manner submit by saying “Here am I”. Imagine God is calling you today – What is your response going to be, non-verbally and verbally?

Genesis 22:9-11 (KJV)
And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
11 And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
