Guilty until proven innocent

According to the law of the United States of America, an accused is afforded the position of being “innocent until proven guilty” and the burden of proof is on the side of the prosecutor to prove one’s guilt. Interestingly, however, this is diametrically opposite to how God’s law operates. According to the law (letter) of God (2 Corinthians 3:6), we are all “guilty until proven innocent” because we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23), but the burden of proof to prove our innocence lies on whether we take a very crucial step or not and that step is to believe in Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “whoever” (no matter how guilty) believes in Jesus Christ (John 3:16), is imputed the sinless righteousness of Jesus Christ (Romans 4:11) and declared innocent (faultless) before the just and only true God and judge (Jude 1:24) . There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit (Romans 8:1).

Points to ponder:
Have you believed in Jesus Christ? In other words, are you still guilty or have you been proven innocent?

Romans 8:1-4 (KJV)
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Making God sick

Do you know that you can make God sick, sick to his stomach, so much so that you can make him throw up? The Bible counsels us to not be lukewarm (neither hot nor cold for God), for in being lukewarm, we are ditasteful to him and he will vomit us out of his mouth. In other words, we make God sick by being lukewarm.

Points to ponder:
O taste and see that the Lord is good and blessed in the man/woman that trust in God (Psalm 34:8). But once you have tasted the goodness of God, be not lukewarm, so that he can taste our lives and see that we are good. Imagine for a moment, as to how you would taste in the mouth of God.

Revelation 3:16 (KJV)
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

A Christian’s address:: www.christianlife.heaven

As we watch for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, while we are on our journey to be with him in heaven (.heaven), the three W’s (www) of our Christian life (.christianlife) should be to:
Walk in the light as he is in the light (1 John 1:7)
Work for him as Ambassadors on a mission (2 Corinthians 5:9, 20)
Worship God and none other (Revelation 19:10)

Points to ponder:
If we have fellowship with Jesus Christ on earth, which comes by walking in the light, working for him and worshipping Him alone, we will have fellowship with him, when Jesus returns to reign, at which time we will continue to walk in Him (The LIGHT), work for him (serve him) and worship him.

1 John 1:6-7 (KJV)
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

2 Corinthians 5:9, 20 (KJV)
Wherefore we labour (work), that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Revelation 19:10b (KJV)
10 worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

God – the Mindreader

If I was to ask you, tell me what I am thinking, the chances that you are going to guess what I am thinking is not only infinitesmally small but in most cases impossible. Even if you did get it correct, it is most likely because you made an educated guess and somehow got lucky. We take solace in the fact, that others around us, cannot read our minds, because the filth that they may find in our minds may make them completely change their opinions about us. Even our righteousness are like filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6) and personally I thank God, others around me, cannot read my mind. However, I dare not challenge God to tell me what I am thinking, for there is not one (no not one) thought that is hidden from him.

The Bible says that God knows the things that come into our mind, every one of them (Ezekiel 11:5). There is nothing that we can hide from God for God is a mindreader. Let us not be carnally minded, but be spiritually minded, for to be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:6). God will keep in perfect peace, whose minds are stayed on him (Isaiah 26:3).

Points to ponder:
Is you mind stayed on Christ Jesus? If God was to read your mind now, what would he find? Remember, there is nothing hidden from God, not even our thoughts, for he knows every thing that comes into our mind, every single one of them.  God can read your minds, he is a mindereader!

Ezekiel 11:5 (KJV)
And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them.

Romans 8:5-6 (KJV)
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Words and Thoughts

Have your ever found yourself saying something while thinking about something else altogether? Many a times, there exists a dichotomy between the words we speak and the thoughts in our mind. We praise God with our words while cursing men (who are made in his own image) with our thoughts (James 3:9). We ought not so to be (James 3:10). If someone has hurt us, we ought to forgive them as God has forgiven us and like the Psalmist’s, let our prayer be, that the words of our mouth and the meditation of our heart be acceptable in the sight of the LORD, our strength and redeemer.

Is your words and thoughts both acceptable in the sight of the LORD?

Psalm 19:14 (KJV)
14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Be a star or a moon?

Would you rather be a star or a moon? A star radiates light from itself. For example, the sun is a star and it emits light. A moon on the other hand reflects the light from another source, like another star. The moon of the earth radiates the light from the sun in our solar system.

Many a times, we try very hard to be a star that the world would see and admire, while all the time, we ought to be like the moon, radiating the radiance of the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Dearly beloved, let us be imitators of Jesus Christ.

Points to ponder:
To be a star is akin to trying to be God.
To be a moon is akin to being an imitator of God.
Would your rather be a star or a moon?

Ephesians 5:1-2 (ESV)
1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.
2 And walk in love, as Christ loved us andgave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

God’s agenda – Subsist, Speak and Show

Ever wondered what God wants us to do? He chose his disciples and apostles and had very specific plans for them. Interestingly his agenda for all he chose was to for them to be with him and for him to send them (Mark 3:14).

So first, God choses so that we can be with him (subsist) and then his agenda is for him to send us. But, send us for what? Send us to preach (speak) (Mark 3:14) and show the way of salvation (Acts 16:17).

Points to ponder:
Are you abiding (subsisting) with Christ? If we are with Christ, we must be speaking (preaching)  so that others can be with him, but it must not be mere words. Our lives must also show that Christ is Savior, Lord and King – the only means of Salvation.

Mark 3:14-15 (KJV)
14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,
15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

Acts 16:16-18 (KJV)
16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

God as The Valentine

On Valentine’s day, there are some who are blessed to have someone in their life that loves them dearly as their valentine, while there are many who are single, either by the death of their loved one or due to broken relationships that need reconciling, and they are seeking for the love of their life. Some are expressive of their feelings of love to the other, while others are not only bottled in but in some cases non-responsive. So while Valentine’s day is celebrated as a day of joy, it is in essence a day of mixed emotions.

In the midst of this, as I pondered of God’s love for each one of us, I realized that, unlike the conditional and wavering expressions of love by us humans, God’s love is not dependent on the extent of love that we have for him. We love him, because he first loved us. In other words, God takes the first step to love us, i.e., God’s love is INITIATING.

Not only is God’s an initiating valentine, God’s love is INSEPARABLE. There is nothing, absolutely nothing that can separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus (our Lord). Neither death, nor life (physical dimension), nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers (spiritual dimension), nor things present, nor things to come (temporal dimension), nor height, nor depth (spatial dimension), nor any other creature (everything else dimension), can make God not be our valentine (Romans 8:38-39).

Points to ponder:
God’s love is INITIATING and it takes two to Tango. God has taken the first step to be your valentine. Have you taken your step to be his?
God’s love is INSEPARABLE . There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that can keep God from being our valentine. What is preventing you from being his?

1 John 4:19 (KJV)
19 We love him, because he first loved us

Romans 8:38-39 (KJV)
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hello Fear, And If Our God Is For Us …, Blessings

During the 54th Grammy Awards ceremony on February 12th, 2012, there were awards given to several outstanding songs and albums and their singers, but what I believe stood out in the awards were the songs and albums chosen in the Gospel and Contemporary Christian category.

The best Gospel song and Gospel album was won by “Hello Fear” by King Franklin.
The best contemporary Christian music album was won by “And If Our God Is For Us …” by Chris Tomlin.
The best contemporary Christian music song was won by “Blessings” by Laura Story.

The lyrics of Kirk Franklin’s “Hello Fear” song paints the story an individual who is severing his relationship with “fear” that had imprisoned him and stolen all hopes and dreams, as God’s healing of hurtful places and grace took its place.

Chris Tomlin in an interview said that he was constantly being bombarded with the thought of the greatest, strongest, most high, healing, awesome and powerful God, who was for us and so changed the originally intended title of the album from “Expectations” to “And If Our God Is For Us …”. He specifically calls to attention in this interview, the importance and significance of the last three dots (dot, dot, dot) at the the end of the album title, expressing that when Our God is For us, (you fill in the blanks), but there is nothing that can stop us, or stand against us. In other words, If Our God Is For Us, nothing is impossible and Scripture affirms that Our God Is For Us!

Finally, the song Blessings by Laura Story paint the imagery of the trials and tears of life to be blessings and mercies in disguise and with the singer, we can pray that we are given wisdom to discern and hear God’s voice, in the midst of the rain and storm; during the hardest and darkest hours of our life, for pain reminds us, that this is not our home – we are just passing through.

Points to ponder:
Putting the three Gospel and Christian winning titles together, we can see God’s message to each one of us, through these award winning titles and songs, that, since OUR GOD IS FOR US, there is NO reason to FEAR and we can call fear and say, “HELLO FEAR”, Grace has taken your place, so farewell, goodbye fear. It is now time for BLESSINGS  to flow in, even if it comes in the form of trials and tears. Our prayer Lord is that you give us wisdom to hear your voice and faith to believe!

Romans 8:15 (KJV)
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Romand 8:31  (KJV)
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Ephesians 1:3 (KJV)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (KJV)
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
