Genesis 3 records the account of the fall of man from the glory of God, for Adam and Eve, willfully sinned by eating of the tree of knowledge of good and of evil, which God has specifically commanded them not to. The Bible states that when Satan, the serpent, beguiled Eve, and when she saw the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and desirable for gaining wisdom, she took and ate it and gave it to her husband who was with her and he ate it as well. Through this act of seeing, taking, and giving, man (and woman) disobeyed God and brought death into the world (1 Corinthians 15:21).

The Bible counsels us to taste and see that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8) and that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). When we see the God of the world manifested fully in his Son Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:9), through his inspiration (2 Timothy 3:16) and his Word (John 1:1), do we desire him and take him and commune (eat) with him (Revelation 3:20). Jesus said that we must remember his death and resurrection, in communion (1 Corinthians 11:24), but we must not just stop there. We must give (share) him with the others who dont know him, so that they may have life – life abundant (John 10:10) and eternal (John 3:16).

Points to ponder:
She saw, she took, she gave … and death came into the world.
Do we see, take and give … the Light of the world (John 8:12) to those who are dying?

7 Steps in Christian Life :: Step 4 – Align

Christian life begins with Christ and continues with Christ, but as we live for Christ, what are some of the steps one has to take.

Jesus said, if you abide in me and my words abide in you, ask what you will and it shall be done to you (John 15:7). While this may seem from the outset as a ticket to get our way with God, what it is really about is about God’s words abiding within us. In order for us to know what God is speaking, we need to tune into him and his message that he speaks (to us and for us) in these last days through his Son, Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1:2), the written Scripture (Bible) which is his inspiration (2 Timothy 3:16) and his servants who faithfully act on his commission of reconciliation (Numbers 12:6).

Step 4 in Christian life is to align ourselves with God. When we align ourselves with God, it is akin to tuning into the frequency by which we can hear his voice speak to our hearts, and his words of eternal life can find a place in us (John 6:68).

Points to ponder:
Am I aligned with God? Are you aligned with God? In other words, do we have the words of eternal life in us? Where else can we go? What’s more is that when we align with God, his words abide in us and his will becomes ours. This way, whatever we will, it shall be done to us because it is essentially his will. Jesus said, not my will, but yours God be done (Matthew 26:49). Jesus aligned with God and so should we.

Jesus in the NT :: 2nd Timothy

The book of 2nd Timothy gives us a glimpse of who Jesus is in the  New Testament (N.T).

The very first verse states that in Jesus is the PROMISE of life 2 Timothy 1:1).  In him, is the PROMISE of life, because in him is the PROVISION of life since Jesus abolished death (2 Timothy 1:10). In other words, Jesus is the Killer of the DEATH KILLER, our Savior. He did so by rising from the dead, by the command of God, stripping death of all its power and rendering it futile. But man is appointed to die once and then enter into judgment (Hebrews 9:27), but who will be the judge. 2 Timothy 4:1 states that Jesus is the judge of the living and the dead and 2 Timothy 4:8 establishes the fact that Jesus is the RIGHTEOUS judge.

In 2 Timothy, Jesus is the One in whom is the PROMISE of life, because He is the PROVISION Of life, the DEATH KILLER / Savior and the RIGHTEOUS Judge.

Points to ponder:
2 Timothy is the book that affirms that ALL SCRIPTURE is God breathed / inspired of God’s (2 Timothy 3:16). Question: Has the inspiration of God, inspired you and me?

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life, and he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” (John 11:24-25). Have you believed to live and never die?
