Professional Speaking :: Jesus The Guide

With Scientiology, Psychic and New Age movements gaining a lot of traction, these days, there is an yearning by many to seek answers and direction, from within or from other external sources, many of whom are farce. John Edwards, Ophray Winfrey, Dr. Phil etc. are just a few in that list. When they are sought for spiritual guidance, some of these people speak about god, but not about Jesus Christ, the one true God and guide.

Jesus Christ is The Guide. The Bible teaches us that God is our God for ever and ever and he will be our guide even unto death (Psalm 48:14). Jesus said that he is the good Shepherd and his sheep hear his voice and follows him (John 10:11,27). In other words, he is the Good and Guiding Shepherd, who leads his followers beside still (peaceful) waters and in paths of righteousness (Psalm 23:2-3).

Points to ponder:
Are you/I being guided by Jesus, The Guide? In other words, are we hearing Jesus’ voice and following him in paths of righteousness, that can bring about a peace that passeth all understanding?

Psalm 48:14 (KJV)
14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

John 10:27 (KJV)
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Psalm 1 :: The Way of the Righteous and the Ungodly

Psalm 1:6 records “For the Lord knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.” While this is a verse that contrasts the way of the righteous and the way of the ungodly and calls to attention the result of the way of the ungodly, it is also a verse that indicates the omniscience of God. Proverbs 5:21 states that the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord and the Lord ponders (examines) all the ways of man. God’s eyes are on the way of the righteous and God will instruct and teach them in the way that they should go (Psalm 32:8); a way that leads to life and not to destruction (perishing).

Points to ponder:
Are you/I being instructed and guided by God? Is his eyes on you and me? For the Lord knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalm 1:6 (KJV)
6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

1 Peter 3:12 (KJV)
12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

Christian Acronym : F.Y.I

F.Y.I (For your Information), the Scripture is F.Y.I (For your INSTRUCTION). The reason for the Bible is instruction in righteousness. It is God’s word given to us so that we may be instructed. Psalm 32:8 assures us that God will instruct us and teach us in the way we should go. He instructs us through His inspired word. If you want to know what God wants you to do; as to what his will is for your life, open the Bible and look inside. God’s will is for us to be Holy and Righteous as He is Holy and Righteous. He wants us to be made perfect as is His Son, Jesus Christ. And all scripture is given by inspiration of God, For Your Instruction (F.Y.I.) in righteousness, so that man of God may be perfect (2 Timothy 3:15-17).

2 Timothy 3:15-17 (KJV)
15
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
