Arriving at the destination

Rebekah, Jacob’s mother had asked Jacob to go to her brother Laban in Haran and stay there a few days until his brother, Esau’s fury had turned away (Genesis 27:43-46). Through the journey we learn that Jacob encounter’s God in a dream, and is assured of God’s presence, provisions and protection (Genesis 28:13-16). Genesis 29:1 reads “Then Jacob went on his journey, and came into the land of the people of the east.” In other words, it was after Jacob’s encounter with God, he continued on his journey, that he was set out to, and arrived at the place where he was asked to go. He enquires of the people (shepherds) that he met there and confirmed that it was indeed the destination that he was to arrive at.

Points to ponder:
While this may seem like a natural set of events on the periphery, we must recognize that Jacob’s arrival in the land where he was sent to, was indeed a testament of God’s promises coming true – the promise of God’s presence, provisions and protection. In like manner, after our encounter with Jesus Christ, we are on a spiritual journey and the very fact that we will arrive at our destination (a city whose architect and builder is God himself – Hebrews 11:10) is a testament to God being faithful and true (Revelation 19:11). For Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us, and it is only he who is wise and Savior, who can keep us from falling and present us faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy (Jude 1:24-25). We can arrive at our destination because God is with us – He is Emmanuel (Matthew 1:23).

Genesis 29:1-6 (KJV)
Then Jacob went on his journey, and came into the land of the people of the east.
And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well’s mouth.
And thither were all the flocks gathered: and they rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well’s mouth in his place.
And Jacob said unto them, My brethren, whence be ye? And they said, Of Haran are we.
And he said unto them, Know ye Laban the son of Nahor? And they said, We know him.
And he said unto them, Is he well? And they said, He is well: and, behold, Rachel his daughter cometh with the sheep.

Professional Speaking :: Jesus The Quality Assurance Specialist

The primary role of a quality assurance specialist is to ensure that the end product, when presented to the stakeholder, is not only free of faults but it is also to put processes in place to prevent the product from defects. Quality assurance is sometimes given as a guarantee to the stakeholder. In such a motif, would we be able to consider Jesus as a Quality Assurance Specialist? Absolutely.

Man is conceived in sin (Psalm 51:5). In other words, born with defect; and because of his fallen (defective) state (1 Corinthians 15:22), man has the destiny of being separated from God, the stakeholder. The only way, man can be made free of the sin defect is by believing in Jesus and receiving him to be his/her Quality Assurance Specialist. Jesus The Quality Assurance Specialist, willingly put in his “sweat-blood equity” (Luke 22:44) to lay out the process of Salvation, when he willingly sacrificed himself on the Cross, to make man defect-free. All man needs to do now is to believe in Jesus. Jesus The Quality Assurance Specialist is the only one who can prevent (keep) us from falling (become defective) and is the only one who can present us faultless (defect-free) before God our stakeholder (Jude 1:24-25) and to him be all glory, and majesty and dominion and power, both now and forever more.

Points to ponder:
Have you been made defect-free (blameless) by Jesus The Quality Assurance Specialist?

Jude 1:24-25 (KJV)
24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Luke 22:44 (KJV)
44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground

Understand and stand up(right)

From Daniel 10, we learn that when Daniel was earnestly praying in humility for understanding, an answer to his request was sent, but the angel with the answer was delayed due to an invisible war that ensued in the spiritual dimension, between the forces of evil (prince of Persia and later the prince of Greece) and the forces of God (the angel with the answer and Michael, the archangel). When the angel with the answer, finally arrives after 21 days of warfare, Daniel is helped to his knees (Daniel 10:10) and asked to understand the words that he was spoken to and to stand upright (Daniel 10:11).

Daniel sought to understand and he was asked to understand God’s message. Daniel was also asked to stand upright. Ecclesiastes 7:29 informs us that God hath made man upright but they have sought out many inventions which means that God created man(kind)/people upright (in his own image) but man has chosen his own downward path (NLT) (from and since his rebellion and fall in the garden of Eden). God want us to be restored, to stand up and stand upright (faultless) before God. This is only possible if we understand the message that God has sent to us; the message of God’s inseparable love, in the form of His Only begotten Son, Jesus Christ (John 3:16). Jesus Christ is God’s message to mankind. He is the answer to the question – “How can man stand upright?” for it is only Jesus Christ, the only wise God and Savior, who can keep us from falling and present us faultless (upright) before the presence of God’s glory (Jude 1:23).There is no other way to righteousness, to standing upright.

Point(s) to ponder:
1. We must be on our knees (not feet) in order to stand before God!
2. We must believe in the Word of God (Jesus Christ), standing up on our knees in humility accepting His Lordship, so that He can make us stand up(right) before God.
In other words, We must Understand God’s Message to Stand Up(right)!

Ecclesiastes 7:29 (KJV)
29 Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.

Daniel 10:10-12 (KJV)
10 And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
11 And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
