Don’t leave Jesus hanging on the Cross

Galatians 3:13 establishes that our redemption from the curse of the law came with a curse on Jesus Christ for it is written, “Cursed is every one who hangs on a tree (Cross).” Isaiah 53:4-6 calls out seven instances of how Jesus Christ on the Cross is our Substitute.
1. He bore our griefs
2. He carried our sorrows
3. He was wounded for our transgressions
4. He was bruised for our iniquities
5. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him
6.With His stripes we are healed; and
7. Our iniquity has been laid on Him.

Points to ponder:
Jesus Christ on the Cross is OUR Substitute. But what is of crucial importance is to trust in Jesus, so that He can substitute the “self” within us, with himself. We must not leave Jesus hanging on the Cross! Is Jesus your Substitute?

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook, a nurse (registered nurse) provides and coordinates patient care, educates patients and the public about various health conditions, and provides advice and emotional support to patients and their family members. In other words, a nurse is one who dispenses medicines and is a caregiver to those who are sick.

The Bible teaches us that with the stripes of Jesus we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). In other words, Jesus is The Nurse who provides spiritual medicine for the healing of our souls with his stripes. The Bible also advises us to cast all our burdens (worries and cares) on Jesus, for He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). Jesus, The Nurse dispenses saving medicine and he cares for us.

Points to ponder:
Jesus gives the medicine to save your soul, unreservedly when you believe in him, and he cares for you, so don’t worry about anything, but give him all your worries and cares. Are you under the care of Jesus The Nurse?

The CROSS examination :: Place of Sentence

The CROSS on which Jesus Christ was nailed is the place where divine sentence which was given as a punishment against mankind, was carried out. The Bible states that a divine sentence is in the lips of the king; his mouth transgresseth not in judgment (Proverbs 16:10). The wages of man’s sin is death; which is the sentence that a Holy and Just God had to give (Romans 6:23). The Cross was where this divine sentence was carried out, but instead of us (malefactors and enemies of God), it was God’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who paid the penalty of our sin, with His life.

Let us cross examine ourselves and be thankful to Jesus Christ, because of whom, we do not need to be where we should have been; on the Cross, carrying out the sentence of God.
